How we source mandi prices
MandiPriceLive publishes daily wholesale APMC (mandi) prices — the modal, minimum and maximum rates per quintal — for vegetables, fruits, spices, pulses and oilseeds across India. Here's exactly where the data comes from and how we keep it honest.
Data sources
AGMARKNET (data.gov.in)
The Government of India's official agricultural marketing network — current-day wholesale arrivals and modal prices across ~22 states, with district and English commodity names.
KRAMA (Karnataka)
Karnataka's state APMC portal — three years of daily market-level history, the densest data we hold.
MSAMB (Maharashtra)
Maharashtra State Agricultural Marketing Board — today's prices across ~300 mandis (history accrues forward).
AGMARKNET weekly price-trend
Weekly state-level average prices giving roughly a year of trend history for 30 states, used where daily data is sparse.
How we keep it honest
- Updated daily at 7 PM IST via an automated pipeline, with failure alerting so the site is never silently stale.
- Validated— rows with ₹0, impossible values or min>max, and per-commodity statistical outliers, are rejected before display.
- Honest about freshness— every price shows its actual reporting date; we never stamp old data as today's.
- Indicative, not a live quote — prices are a day old at best. Use them to shortlist the best mandis, then confirm before you travel.
